SAM type

Description

A SAM type groups all SAMs with the same function (e.g. a SAM type for all SAMs that can prepersonalize cards, a SAM type for all SAMs that can load data onto cards...).

Each type of SAM has to be able to execute particular tasks and unable to execute other tasks. These "rights" are defined through SAM keys, which are or are not linked to a particular SAM type.

Example

A SAM for the prepersonalization of cards does not have to validate contracts. As a result:

• The key for the prepersonalization of cards is linked to this SAM type
• The key for the validation of contracts is linked to this SAM type
